I know it’s been awhile since my last blog but I had some news to share, some exciting but scary news. I have signed up for my 2nd Half Marathon. If you have been following me you know my first half was the Disney Princess in 2014 in Orlando, FL. This half marathon will be a little closer to home in Myrtle Beach, SC. On May 1st, 2016 I will be running in the DIVAS® HALF MARATHON race. This time I am determined to be race ready as they say.
If you are a runner and have already or would like to run in the DIVA half or 5K please join my Facebook group. If you are just a runner and want to chat with others that share your passion for running join the group.
How do you train for your Half Marathon? Anyone know any good apps I can download on my phone to help? I posted this question on a FB running group. Thought I would share some of the suggestions.
Hal Higdon’s -http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide
Jeff Galloway – http:// http://www.jeffgalloway.com/
RunKeeper -https://runkeeper.com/ download the app on your phone.
There is a couple free programs for the half marathon training but the there are some programs that ask you to pay.
Zen labs – http://www.zenlabsfitness.com/ download the app on your phone. 5K and 10 K are free but the half training is $9.99.
In my searching for apps I did come across this review for the Zen labs app you may want to read. My Loss, Your Gain! Unofficial Zen Labs Half Marathon Trainer Pro Review: http://everydaytrails.com/2015/01/19/my-loss-your-gain-unofficial-zen-labs-half-marathon-trainer-pro-review/
Nike – Download the app on your phone. Looks like there is not a charge for the Nike app training. There is three levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)
