This week I officially started my training for the 2016 Myrtle Beach Diva Half Marathon which will be on May 1st. I also tried out my new New Balance shoes!
Saturday I did 3 miles which was perfectly fine, I was okay with the final result but today I did five miles and realized how out of shape I am for running. See I have been sick with a bad cough for about a month now and it has prevented me from doing any running. I didn’t even go to the gym for a couple of weeks. I still have the cough here and there but I finally felt good enough to run outside Saturday. Today after the five miles my legs feel like they just finished a half marathon. I have a lot of training to do before May. I am training with the Runkeeper app with the training plan – Half Marathon for beginners by Jeff Gaudette. This is my second marathon but I was not prepared at all for my first and had not used a training routine. I will stick with this routine and try to keep this blog updated on my results.
