Here is where you can read about my personal journey that lead me to where I am today, more than 50 pounds lighter than I use to be.
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”. – Hebrews 12:1
My Personal Story: After a visit to my Doctor (Dr. Krista Kozacki at HopeHealth) in 2013 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I had been feeling sluggish and had no energy. I had gained a lot of weight over the last few years, I was the biggest I’ve ever been. I had to make the decision to change my eating habits and to begin exercising on a regular basis. I was determined to lose weight and get health!
The Plan: In 2013 I found my passion for running. I’m not a strong runner, I’m not the fastest runner, I’ll never be one of the top runners but I don’t care. I love to run! At first it was hard and I took lots of breaks and would get frustrated that I couldn’t run very far. I kept going and slowly my endurance began to build. Running makes me happy and feel good about myself. I like the feeling of accomplishment after completing a 5K or 10K race.
My sister and I started this personal goal to become healthier and run together. We both completed our first half marathon together February 2014 at the Disney Princess half marathon in Disney World. This is why my blog is called “Running on Magic” because runDisney is why I started running in 2013.
